DTF File Size Checker — See Exactly How Big Your Design Will Print

Upload your design file and instantly see its pixel dimensions, exact physical print size at 300 DPI (in both inches and centimeters), file size, and a quality rating. Works with PNG, JPG, and WebP files.

This tool solves the most common sizing confusion in DTF: understanding the relationship between pixel dimensions and physical print size. A 1000×1000px file does not print as 10×10cm — it depends entirely on the DPI setting.

How to read the results

The tool shows your file at 300 DPI (the DTF industry standard) and also at 72, 150, 200, and 400 DPI so you can compare. The row highlighted in orange is the 300 DPI result — this is what your supplier will print if you submit the file as-is.

What pixel count do I need?

Formula: size in cm ÷ 2.54 × 300 = pixels needed. For a 30cm wide design: 30 ÷ 2.54 × 300 = 3543 pixels. The checker shows you this calculation for every file you upload.

Frequently Asked Questions

My file is 1080×1080px — how big will it print on a t-shirt?
At 300 DPI: 1080 ÷ 300 × 2.54 = 9.14cm × 9.14cm. That is roughly a 3.6 inch square — suitable for a small chest logo but too small for a full chest print. For a full chest print (30×30cm) you need 3543×3543 pixels.
Can I see the file size before sending to my DTF supplier?
Yes — the checker shows the file size in KB or MB. Most DTF suppliers accept files up to 100MB. If your file is larger, flatten all layers in Photoshop and re-export as PNG.
Why does my file look good on screen but print blurry?
Screen resolution is 72-96 DPI. A file that looks sharp on screen may only be 72 DPI — which prints very blurry for DTF. The checker flags this and tells you exactly what pixel dimensions you need for your target print size at 300 DPI.
